Well, Turner is one of the best, if not the best prospect ATM. Huge upside. I think they want him as that extra starter but he's just not ready yet.

And yes, it is too early to push panic buttons. But Inge and Raburn should not be in the lineup together.

Well at least they managed a split out of the double header after the terrible first game. Valverde did his best to make things interesting again but he hung on.

Why in the hell is Inge playing both games of a double header? To maximize his plate appearances?

Henning tweets....

Lynn_Henning RT @myersc81 Never heard boos (for Tiger) as last night's for Inge. Craig: Not close to Jason Grilli, 4/4/08, when ChiSox massacred him.

Lynn_Henning Danny Worth batting .385 in 8 games at Triple A, with 2 homers and 5 doubles. Should have made team out of Florida. Inge's time dwindling.

Jurrjens to the minors. 9.37 era so far. Had injury problems last year but still made the All Star game. After the all star game his effectiveness plummeted. Apparently he's not having health problems now. His problem is pure suckage.

Another great start by Smyly today giving up 1 run and 2 hits to get his 1st career win. His ERA is 1.23 through 4 starts. So far he's taking advantage of the opportunity of being the 5th starter.

Fister is supposed to get a rehab start in Toledo this week.

His work has been pretty impressive given he had just 45 AA innings before the season.

Tigers 2012 Season Discussion

Postby Rightwinger » Mon May 07, 2012 12:32 pm

Looks like Boesch is on the verge of seeing Toledo again. Henning.....

Boesch reflective of a Tigers team expected to hit a ton that -- despite urgings -- has swung at everything. Strike zone has been squared.

A more discerning Brennan Boesch could be on display beginning tonight. Tigers lecturing him hard -- VERY hard -- to relax and be selective.

Can I get a "woot-woot," for the way the Tigs have picked it up the past couple of weeks? Austin, Quintin, Miggy, Prince and Delmon are tearing the cover off the ball, and even Ramon, Brendan and Alex are finally coming around. The pitching has been more than adequate, for the most part, but there's still room for improvement on both fronts. Fielding is never going to be this team's strong suit, but they're doing better than they were during the low-point, about a month ago.

This can still be a very momentous season, if they play up to their potential and keep after the White Sox, who are surprising everyone so far. I think we're still going to win the division, and what if we get Victor back, and he starts raking the way he did last year, or close? Aye Caramba! :)

Tigers clicking on all cylinders, sweep Sox to take over first with a flourish. Turner gets his first win today, with a fine performance that was much-needed, with Smyly still recovering. Miggy clubs homer #300. Boesch continues torrid slugging streak, looking like the first half of his rookie season again.

What's not to love? :D
