No thanks. I don't enjoy the "discovered footage" style of story telling.

it's not always bad, Paranormal activity did it well, so did Cloverfield, and Rec was ok. They can get nauseating if you have a tendency to get motion sick. But the good ones seem to find ways around moving the camera so much.

if you're looking for an interesting film check out Pontypool. Zombish type film with very few zombies. actually kind of a radio drama, it's fun.

From that list, I've only seen Cloverfield. Not that bad actually. But I have a hard time getting into movies like that, because I just can't believe the players involved would bother to tape every moment while fighting for their lives and trying to escape some horrible creature.

I'll check out Pontypool.

that's where suspension of disbelief comes in. it's hard for a lot of people but if you can just get past it there are SOME good ones.

Watched hugo last night. I have no idea what that movie was about.

I may quit watching movies for a while now. And tv shows. There's just nothing good to watch anymore. The only tv shows I enjoy watching now are supernatural, fringe, and grimm. AND THEY ALL COME ON AT THE SAME TIME. In a perfect world breaking bad would have a new episode every week. And lets have some more star trek series. Everything now is reality this, reality that. FUCK THAT. I want sci-fi reality shows. I hate winter.
Give them nothing! But take from them everything!

I want a REAL reality show. Instead of two teams doing stupid games and voting each other off an island, drop a dozen people onto an island with minimal supplies and let them try to survive. They can quit whenever they want, last one there sticking it out wins.

I remember when I first started to hear about this new show "Survivor". In my head, I thought that is what it was going to be like, instead of what it is now.

Much as I'd like to see that, the reality of such a reality show would be too ugly for TV. People actually starving to death, or dying of exposure? People going crazy from the stress? No, you can't have that on TV, not with the liability laws being what they are.

For those that do want to see a REAL reality show, check out "Everest". Pretty insane stuff, and very entertaining. After watching all 3 seasons, I now realize that climbing Everest is easier, and harder than I realized. It is easier in the sense that the Sherpas climb to the top at the start of the season and lay ropes and ladders all the way to the summit, so that all the white guys that go next stand a fighting chance (The Sherpas are mountain-climbing machines. You gotta respect them). It is harder, in that I didn't realize how harsh it is up there. I mean I realized it was harsh, but the temperature and pressure is such that the body can't even digest food anymore, and instead turns to digesting muscle for food. You definitely don't want to be caught up there for long stretches. Some of the "characters" do.

During the course of the show, real people die, are left to die, lose fingers and toes, and get pushed to the extreme, all while you site cozy on the couch. That's as real as it gets on TV.

I fail to see the point in climbing Everest.

We watched Body of Lies last night. It's a pretty solid CIA type movie, good guys doing some not so good things for the greater good. Crowe and Dicaprio are both pretty good actors, which is something I didn't think I'd ever say about Leo.
